In Loving Memory of Isaac  Gaines

May 17, 1944 - April 20, 2017

Isaac Gaines Jr. was born May 17, 1944 in Galveston, Texas to Isaac Gaines Sr. and Jetrie Sanford. He received his education in the Galveston, Texas School District.

Isaac accepted Christ at an early age. Isaac was an active member at New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under Reverend Dr. Sonji Dawson, for the past 3 years.

Isaac met his wife of 25 years, Joann Adams while attending Church, which became their foundation. Isaac brought three children to the marriage, Paula, Marcus and Marvin, Joann brought Michael, Carla, Kimberly and James.

Isaac served in the United States Navy. He received an Honorable Discharge after 8 years of serving his country.

Isaac worked 18 years for Racon, he also worked for Willowbrook Senior Citizen Center, L.A. County as a Bus Driver and retired after 15 years of service.

Isaac was good with tools, and if you ever needed a tool, Dr. Gadget had it. He was very helpful, reliable and always available to help out. Isaac enjoyed talking on his C.B. radio and was a Ham Operator as well.

On April 20, 2017, Isaac was called home. Those who preceded him in death, his parents: Isaac Gaines Sr. and Jetrie Gaines; two brothers: Cecil Gaines and Ivory Leo Gaines and son, Chandler Cotton.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Joann Gaines; three children: Paula Gaines, Marcus Cotton and Marvin Cotton; two stepdaughters: Carla Worthy and Kimberly Johnson; two stepsons: Michael McButts and James Johnson; two sisters: Betty J. (Abel) Owens and Peggy Gaines; three brothers: Harris Lee Gaines, Joe Atkins and Kenneth Atkins; seven grandchildren: Ayanna LeAnn Cotton, Kia Gaines, Nadia Gaines, Justin Gaines, Tatiana Gaines, Jason Gaines, Samuel Gaines plus eleven step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren: Kiana Gaines, Kiara Gaines, Kalyra Gaines, Glendale Jr., TaRiq Gaines, Emoni Gaines plus eight step-great-grandchildren; two goddaughters, Lorrie Watkins and Regina Robinson; special friends: Daja Hollins and Charles Big Easy. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
