In Loving Memory of Patsy Ann Thomas

February 16, 1960 - May 22, 2019

Patsy Ann Thomas was born in Los Angeles, California to the late Henderson Thomas and Arletha Griffin-Baker on February 16, 1960. At an early age, Patsy left to live with her grandparents Vasti Queen Baker and Brew Baker in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Patsy accepted Chris at an early age and was baptized.

Patsy moved back to California in 1966, where she received her education, attending Martin Luther King Elementary, Bunche Middle School, and Centennial High School, graduating from Jordon High School. Patsy enjoyed playing basketball, running track, singing and modeling. She also loved to laugh and spend time with her family.

Patsy once again relocated to Houston, Texas where she met Calvin Davis and to this union, her first son was born, Rod. After leaving Texas, she returned to California with her son. She then met Rickey Franklin, to this union four children were born: her oldest daughter Olivia, second son Rickey Franklin, and two more daughters Tiera Franklin and her baby girl Shakira Pig Franklin. Her children left a host of grandchildren to cherish. She dedicated her life to her family. She worked as a care provider for Olivia for 29 years. She will always be the best mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. We will always honor her as Our Queen.

Meeting her at the gates to Heaven will be her mother and father Henderson Thomas and Arletha Griffin-Baker, grandparents Vasti Queen Baker and Brew Baker, her brother Freddie McCoy, as well as other relatives.

Patsy leaves to cherish her memories and honor her legacy, children: Rod, Olivia Rickey, Tiera, and Shakira; her sisters: Frankie Brown, Georgia Boykin, Juanita Jones, Betty McCoy, Vicky McCoy, and Elizabeth McCoy; brother Michael McCoy, grandchildren: Amorie Thomas, Abreyah Thomas, Jhi Thomas, Kemora Oliver Key, Aaliyah Shaw, Alvin Shaw, and Sione Palu Onnie; god-children: Jasmiane Bolden, Kenisha Rainer, Arrayah and Jordon. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
