In Loving Memory of Dorothy Batice

May 10, 1935 - September 10, 2016

Dorothy Mae Batice was born May 11, 1935, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Reverend Grady B. McGee and Bertha McGee.  Dorothy graduated from Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana.

Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized.  Dorothy was on the Missionary Board for 46 years. She was a current member of Grant A.M.E. Church under Reverend Dr. James Arthur Rumph.

Dorothy married Luther Batice Jr. and through this union three children were born; Andre, Michelle, and Mario Batice.

During the 40 years of Dorothy's professional career, she worked for three companies: Mattel Toys, Federal Mogul and Harbor City Molding.

Dorothy loved to go for rides and travel to Las Vegas. She loved reading and singing. Dorothy loved her family and going to family reunions. Dorothy was a very loveable and kind person, she loved telling jokes and making people laugh. Dorothy would help anyone in any way she could. She was one of a kind and will truly be missed.

Dorothy was called home on September 10, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents: Rev. Grady B. McGee and Bertha McGee: two sisters: Rose and Juanita and one brother, Clarence.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Andre Batice, Mario (Donna) Batice and Michelle Batice; ex-husband Luther Batice Jr.; her stepmother, Elizabeth B. McGee, siblings: Ruby, Lela, Annel, Mary, Milton, Diana, Samuel, Denise, Daniel and Pandora; two grandchildren: Andre Jr. and Maurice; three special friends: Johnny, Beverly and Charlene and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
